What They Say
Toni Koch, Director, Pitch-A-Song; Promoter and Consultant for Independent Artists
"Very gentle, soothing, healing songs. I am impressed and inspired! You have a courage to speak out on issues some of us would rather not mention but you're a leader with Release this Anger. I cried at that one too.
You have beautiful songs that tell stories and resonate deep in the soul and lift up the spirit. I cried during These Holy Ghosts as my Mom is 86 and it was like what I would say to her."
Brian Ball - Director of Music & Talent, WomensRadio
"A heartwarming and unparalleled live set from emotionally-charged underground folk hero Phyllis A. Travis is what our viewers were treated to as we passed the 1AM mark late Saturday night / early Sunday morning, closing out the 2009 Indiegrrl Conference in Nashville, TN.
Phyllis’s raw and pure songwriting style is comprised of an even mixture of storytelling, healing, love, optimism and an approachably humanizing quality that will surely melt your heart on the coldest of your days. If you’re looking for that one thing in this world that can turn your day around … this just may be it."
Stina Pope - Healer Priest and Health Coach
"Phyllis is a dream woman. She dreams her dreams, and dreams them into reality. She really knows how to listen. Having listened to her dreams, she knows how to listen to yours.
She sings her dreams into the light and you feel the warmth. Her journey of following the dream has been grace-full for those around her.
The music of her dreams spills up and over, splashing down again like a beautiful fountain. Dive in and enjoy!"

"We selected 3 “standout” songs from the materials you’ve sent over, “These Holy Ghosts”, “Show Me” and “Girl, I Wonder”. Of these “Holy Ghosts” was at the top of the list and was selected because of the raw emotion found within its boundaries."

Interview with Glynace Estham - Singer, Songwriter & Producer
Have you known Phyllis Travis long?
Not long, just since the "Indiegrrl Conference" in Nashville in August, 2009, where I hosted The TEXAS ROOM, a performing songwriter Showcase Room.
In a word, what impressed you the most?
Just one word - Melody, I guess (among other things).
Of the songs you've heard performed or written by Phyllis, which one is your favorite and why?
SILVER DREAMS. I just love the melody, and the lyrics are so nice!
When you think about her style, is there anything in particular that comes to mind?
Everything comes together right - melody, lyrics, solid guitar style. She has the right voice for her songs, too.
Would you invite her back to perform for one of your live showcases again?
AB-SO-LUTELY!
For any new listener out there, someone who has never heard Phyllis perform before, or has never been introduced to her music, what would you say?
Whether you like to listen to lyrics, music only, or hear a pleasant voice; if you like folk music or folkrock, you will like Phyllis's music.
